The Essex Steam Train

A lot of movies set in Connecticut have to do with trains. That whole Ice Storm, Revolutionary Road thing, where the men go off to New York on the Metro North train and the women and children stay home in the Gold Coast suburbs, their souls slowly being destroyed. (AKA my childhood. Kidding. Sort of.) But there was once another kind of Connecticut train commute, a lovely slow journey through the woods along the river. I experienced it in all its retro glory in May. Here's my take on the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat.
